I guess the numbers were too specific and took away from a more metaphorical idea of mail? It would be cool if they gave reasons for their declarations.
I think that sometimes they gave reasons, but sometimes it seemed to be a "because we say so" type thing. Sometimes they would tell Hannah to do something, and, when she did, they told her to undo it.
